Saturday night, my host family and I FINALLY went to eat hot pot. Apparently the place we went to, pictured here, is well known and a bit expensive. The reason it has taken so long for us to go out for hot pot is because of my host sister’s absence. She was in the hospital because of her allergies for the better part of my first days here. I couldn’t be happier with my host family.

I remember one of my Chinese teachers back at Ohio State telling me that he tried Mexican food and it was nothing compared to Sichuan’s spiciness. I’m betting on that he had a weak spicy Mexican dish. Why? Nothing here has come close to being “spicy” for me. Hot pot is still good, don’t get me wrong, but I’ve been warned as to how spicy it was. Nope. #ColorMeDisappointed.
